Franziska Huhn

Franziska Huhn has a passion for teaching harp to all ages and levels. She welcomes beginner as well as advanced players. Ms. Huhn transmits her love and knowledge of music in her teaching methods, and she emphasizes reading and understanding music and encourages technical skills. Her own enthusiasm and love of the harp is contagious. She fosters that same excitement in her students by inspiring her students in a warm, supportive atmosphere of learning.

Ms. Huhn is a faculty member of harp at the famous Longy School of Music in Cambridge. Students at the Longy School can register for the preparatory or Continuing Studies Program; they can also audition at the Conservatory for the following degree programs: Undergraduate Diploma, Masters of Music, Graduate Performance Diploma and Artist Diploma. Ms. Huhn is also on the faculty at the New England Conservatory, Boston, where she teaches Harp ensemble and orchestral audition repertoire.

She also teaches harp at her private studio in Somerville, MA, and she welcomes additional students.

During the summer, Ms. Huhn serves as Assistant Director of the Harp Seminar, Boston University Tanglewood Institute, Lenox, MA, which is a six week long program for advanced high school students.

In addition to her regular teaching, Ms. Huhn has given numerous international master classes in the US, Germany, Georgia and Syria.

Ms. Huhn is a demonstrative teacher - she can fix any glitch you may have in your playing. Her knowledge about harp repertoire, harpists, harp maintenance and harp history give real depth to your education with her. I've enjoyed every minute working with Franziska! Maria Parker-Rindonello
